Beef Bourguinon

4 pounds lean beef -- cubed
1/3 cup olive or vegetable oil
1 cup red wine
1 teasp black pepper
8 slices bacon -- diced
1 onion -- diced
2 cloves garlic -- crushed
1 pound mushrooms -- sliced
1/3 cup flour

Marinate beef in wine, oil, thyme & black pepper for four hrs at room temp. or overnight in the fridge. Cook bacon till soft in a large pan. Add garlic and onion, saute till soft. Add mushrooms & cook till slightly wilted. Drain beef, reserving liquid. Remove beef to slow cooker. Pour flour over the
beef, stirring till well coated. Add mushroom mixture. Add reserved marinade over all. Cook on LOW 8-9 hrs. Serve Beef Bourguinon with egg noodles & sour cream on the side. Good luck!
